Ready to Set 2022 on Fire? Me Too.

2022 was a humdinger of a year.

So much so that I've retreated deeper into silence and stillness over these past few months than perhaps ever before. Surrendering myself to the flames, navigating the terrain that exists beyond words.

Confusion. Uncertainty. Fear.

Courage. Conviction. Faith.

Heartache.

Hope. Always hope.

These have been my steady companions as I've traversed the crooked pathways between my heart, head, and spirit this year.

No matter how practiced a firebird I may have become, the burning still cooks my flesh every time. The process of deconstruction and rebirth is deeply uncomfortable and takes time to integrate.

(It’s also unavoidable if we long to be truly awake and alive.)

For the first time since I launched my practice back in 2020, I stopped writing. Didn’t send out my regular newsletters or keep up with my blog.

It’s like a dam has backed up all my words, storing up my recent experiences and revelations in a reservoir for a later day. It calls to mind the words of one of my mentors: “You can’t write the story while you’re still bleeding it.”

Those stories may yet come, but for today what I know is that I am being called out of the flames to be of service. And that whenever I burn, I will eventually emerge brighter.

I was roused from my morning meditation a few minutes ago with a knowing that words ARE needed today. Words, ritual, and community. And so, I come to you with an invitation.

I’m sensing that there are a few of you that, like me, have so much that’s ready to be turned over to the ritual fire. Things you’re longing to let go of from 2022. Unrealized dreams. Disappointments. Grief. Unresolved situations.

Whatever it may be, there’s relief to be found in letting go.

This first full moon of 2023 is a potent opportunity for a reset. If you’re feeling the call, let's come together and be witnessed as we release what’s expired or is no longer needed.

Whether you’re an old hand at ritual or have never done one before, you're in the right place!  I’m all about bridging worlds, and making spiritual self-care practices relevant, down to earth, and accessible.

Soulful self care doesn't have to take a lot of time or effort.

In little over an hour, we weave sacred space together. I'll offer you some journal prompts and a guided meditation. We'll then peform a simple ritual for release with the support of the elements: fire, air, earth, water and Spirit.

It's easy, cleansing, soul-sustaining... and way more FUN when we do it together! And lord knows I could use more connection and  joy in my self care practices - how about you?

FULL MOON RITUAL FOR RELEASE
Lightening the Load for 2023

Thursday, January 5th
3:00 - 4:30 pm PST
Online via Zoom video call

Cost $35

What I love about these rituals is that they offer something that's both simple and powerful: 60 minutes to slow down, connect with yourself, and tend to your inner landscape with creativity, kindness and compassion.

If this speaks to you, I would love to see you there.

However you choose to mark the close of your year and start of a new one, I wish you all the best in your process. I've been drawing a lot of inspiration from poetry over the last few months, and would like to leave you with the one I've been meditating on over the past few days.

 CLEARING
by Martha Postlethwaite

Do not try to serve
the whole world
or do anything grandiose.
Instead, create
a clearing
in the dense forest
of your life
and wait there
patiently,
until the song
that is yours alone to sing
falls into your open cupped hands
and you recognize and greet it.
Only then will you know
how to give yourself to this world
so worthy of rescue

With love and gratitude,

Chris

Who better to walk the flames with you than one who intimately knows what those hot coals of transformation feel like? Companioning others is deeply sacred work, and  I bring my whole self to the process. To honor my own real time experience of transition and change, I am only accepting a few new clients at this time.
